Pine Trees

I live in a village near to the North Norfolk Coast.

The studio is full of light and is quiet, an ideal place to work in.

Paintings grow out of many different sources. Sometimes, I make notes and live with a new idea for while before planning and working on a canvas. At other times I begin to paint with no destination in sight and I resist putting a title to the image for as long as possible.

I work in acrylic, but I also love using watercolour and combinations of different media.

Travelling to large cities is very good for collecting new ideas and inspiration. Visually, they bring contrast, dramatic colour and exciting new directions. Photography is essential for my work.
