Educated in Devon during the 1950’s.

Art Education - Croydon College of Art, during the 1960’s. NDD in Fine Art & Printmaking.

Teaching at - Wimbledon Art College, Leicester Polytechnic & Brighton Polytechnic at various times during the early 1970’s.

Worked for Bridget Riley, as one of her assistants from 1968 to 1973.

Also worked briefly at Long Grove Psychiatric Hospital. Epsom, in the Children’s unit as Art Therapist in the early 1970’s.

Began illustrating Picture Books from 1968 onwards. 1st Picture Book for Oxford University Press, published in 1970.

Won The Kate Greenaway Medal for 'Snow White in New York' in 1986
